The wooden Church of the Exaltation of the Cross is a 20th century architectural monument. It was built in 1924 in eclectic style with the help of 4,100 parishioners and the the priest Lucian Zholondkovsky. Its composition uses gothic techniques, stylized barocco and classicism forms.
The Church of St. Paraskeva in Chernikhovo was built on the site of the former church which had fallen into decay, and was consecrated on January 8th, 1895.
The building at 77 Sovietskaya Str. is in the city centre, therefore, its exterior always attracts passers-by. This is one of the architectural monuments protected by the state. The bank was built in 1927-1929 within the framework of the national plan to build new bank buildings. The buildings were designed by the most famous Polish architects of those days. Construction and finishing work was done by private building companies chosen on a competitive basis.
Polonka has been known since 1495. It was well-known as a small place on the old Warsaw road. At various times it belonged to the families of Khreptovicy and Sangushky-Nesuchoezhsky.
St. Anthony church (or the Church of the Right Reverend Anthony) is one of the oldest Orthodox temples in Baranovichi district, which is nearly 200 years old. The church was built as far back as the 18th century and originally was Catholic. After the divisions of Rzeczpospolita and after the Belarusian lands became part of the Russian Empire, the Catholic church was reconsecrated into Orthodox. The church building was repeatedly re-built; the last reconstruction is dated 1817.
