Church of St. Paraskeva in Verkhneye Chernikhovo

The wooden church has a rectangular farmework sitting on the foundation, and a bell tower at the church’s main facade. The walls are broken with 6 large and 7 small windows.
St. Paraskeva has always been loved and worshipped by Orthodox Christians. Her name is associated with a great number of pious customs and rituals. Icons of this saint woman-martyr protect family well-being and happiness. According to a religious belief, St. Paraskeva is a patroness of fields and cattle, therefore on her commemoration it is customary to bring fruits to church for consecration which are kept then as sacred until the next year.
Besides, people pray to St. Paraskeva asking her to preserve the cattle from loss. The Saint martyress heals people from the most severe mental and physical ailments.
