The first ever museum of railway machinery in Belarus was set up on December 14th, 1984, on the initiative of Victor Rakhmanko, head of the Baranovichy branch of Belarusian railways. And on July 30th, 1999, a museum exposition of the machinery was opened up in a small public garden adjoining the Baranovichi - Lida mainline .

The 6 rooms of the museum, which is housed in a historical building of early 20th century, give a picture of the periods the railways in general and the Baranovichy branch, in particular, were formed and developed. On display in the museum are historical documents, photographs, on-location and three-dimensional exhibits, machinery models, a railway uniform. Looking at all these historical things, one can get an idea of how the railway transport developed in the country and what the significance of the job of a railwayman was.
